How Long Does It Take For My Listings To Show Up On Zillow?

NNRMLS distributes listing data to popular websites like Zillow, Trulia, and Homes.com. We utilize the syndication services of ListHub and Point2 to get the data from the MLS to these portals. Your listings are syndicated automatically if your office is properly configured. Your broker can sign into Point2 and ListHub via the NNRMLS Launchpad to view and manage syndication options. 

One of the frequent questions we answer at the MLS is How long does it take for my listing to show up on Zillow/Trulia/etc.?” The actual time that it takes to go from a saved listing to the portal can vary depending on a number of circumstances.

I recently spoke with John Whitney, the VP of Industry Relations with ListHub, and asked him for some details on the matter. John said “ListHub retrieves updated listing data from NNRMLS every 6 hours and makes the data available to publishers with the same frequency.” He went on to say that all publishers were required to update the data at least once every 24 hours, and that the major publishers refresh their listing data up to 4 times a day.

Point2 employs a similar update schedule with us and their publishers. Point2 Senior Account Executive Allison Stakiw says  “It is imperative that portals and websites that use MLS data and information keep their listings as up-to-date as possible. Point2 includes a provision in all of our data contracts requiring that syndication partners update and refresh the data they receive from Point2 at least once every 24 hours.”

Portals receive data from numerous sources, including brokerages, agents, public records, and syndication services.  It’s important to note that there is some overlapping coverage between ListHub and Point2, but they each have their unique channels as well.
